Baby Shower

This past Saturday, our GREAT friends threw us a baby shower.  We had lots of great food and Jimmy's favorite assortment of candy!!  Jimmy was in heaven with all the sweets.  We greatly appreciated all of our family and friends that joined us to make this a special day.  We were thoroughly excited about all the books, stuffed animals and gifts we received.  We spent Sunday sitting in our nursery going through all the wonderful gifts we got for Alyssa.

3D/4D Sonogram

This past Saturday we went to Stork Vision to have a 3D/4D sonogram of Baby Alyssa.  My parents, Jimmy and I went and had mexcian food at Pappasito's beforehand to get Alyssa to be active.  It was recommended I have a sweet drink before the sonogram so I was more than happy to have a couple glasses of Coke.  The result of my over indulgence was Alyssa was too active and kicking away the entire time we were at the sonogram.  It was hard to get a lot of good pictures but regardless we were excited to see our little baby!!

Baby Stuff

Our Saturday was filled with the excitement of completing our baby registry.  We spent a good portion of the day between Babies R Us and Lone Star Baby walking wondrously up and down every aisle trying to figure out what we truly needed.  Several calls were made to friends and family to get their thoughts on what they liked best for their babies.  Registering for the baby items was exciting for Jimmy and I since we know our little girl will be using these items in a little over 3 months!!

Now that we are at week 24 and the baby bump is clearly evident, we figured we should post some pictures for family and friends that live out of town and do not see us on a regular basis.

Her Name Is........

We have finally picked a name after many months of contemplation!!  And the name is.... Alyssa Kate Stanley.  The meaning behind the name Alyssa is of noble kind and Kate stands for pure. We are so excited and can't wait for baby "Allie" to arrive.  We had a very productive baby week.  In addition to deciding on a name, we also ordered the baby furniture and bedding.  As soon as we get the bedding in, next on the agenda will be selecting a paint color for her nursery.  We feel like we have made some progress but have a long way to go!!

It's a GIRL!!!

The Stanley Family blog is officially up and running.  Jimmy and I are so excited about our little girl due in less than 4 months.  Our official due date is March 12, 2011.  Posted are a couple of our better sonogram pictures from our last two appointments.
