12 Month Check-up

Our little girl is now considered a toddler and while part of me is sad, I do love watching her grow and learn everyday.  At her 12 month appointment, she weighed in at 18 lbs 9 oz (25th Percentile) and 28 inches long (15th Percentile).  She's a tiny little girl but the pediatrician assured me she was very healthy.

I haven't been very good at posting Alyssa's accomplishments but here's what she's up to these days.  Alyssa learned to walk at 10 months and crawl at 11 months but still only crawls when she absolutely has to.  She LOVES to give kisses and has just learned how to blow kisses.  She waves as soon as she hears the word "bye" and points at everything.  Books are one of her favorite things right now, if she see's one she'll bring it to you and try to sit in your lap.  She has learned the sign for more but clearly doesn't understand what it means.  She's up to five words (Dada, Mama, Doggie, Kitty and Thank You).  She knows where her belly button is but prefers to show me mine.  It amazes me how quick she's growing up!!

Watch Out!!

Alyssa got some wheels from our good friends Jenny and Travis for her first birthday.  She has figured out where the button is but hasn't yet learned how to steer, which means we have to be right by her side.  The video dosen't show it but she loves to make it stop and go.

Our Little ONE

Our little girl is officially one! It is so hard to believe a year has passed by so quickly. Alyssa loved her pink lady bug themed party and appeared to have enjoyed her first taste of some good 'ol cake. We were so glad our friends and family joined us for this special occasion.

So Much Fun

I know this is not how we should wind down for bed but it just makes our day.  Right before we put Alyssa's pajamas on we let her run around with only a diaper on and she always throws her hands in the air and runs all over the house.

Our Little Valentine

Grandma & Aunt Jackie's Visit

My grandma and aunt Jackie drove in from Kansas to meet Emma for the first time.  While in town, we got to celebrate my grandma's birthday.  We enjoyed visiting with them and look forward to June when we get to see them again at Brent's wedding.

Rodeo

While Kristin's grandma and aunt were in town, we went to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.  We got to watch a little bit of the mule jumping competition before heading to the 2 o'clock show.  Alyssa was great and enjoyed watching the horses as they passed by. She also enjoyed her first taste of a good ol' carnival corn dog.  She loved it!
